Avatar 3:44pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...John Phillips certainly taking his own advice there...brilliant arranger &tc. ...
Avatar 3:50pm geezerette:

Rev Rab,exactly, brilliant arrangement! It's an entire opera or novel in less than three minutes.
Avatar 3:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I didn't think anything could top Dave Crosby's autobiography - but Mackenzie Phillips' did it...
Avatar 3:59pm geezerette:

Haven't read it but her dad was a brilliant musician and a horrible human being.
Avatar 4:02pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Well - 'Papa' was an ironic title. It was a time of rebellion against all rules - & he took it farther than most.
4:04pm "the filthiest of all the hippies . . .":

On the album cover the Mamas and Papas are all in a BATHTUB
(collector cover if it has the toilet, too) . . . "VANITY FARE still performing" with couple members that date back, but after last hit "Hitchin' a Ride"
Avatar 4:19pm geezerette:

Rev Rab,a friend of mine recently read a biography of some artist, don't remember who,but she was so horrified by the person that she couldn't enjoy his work anymore. It's funny that there's no obvious connection between someone's personality and the kind of work they make. If I like the work, I don't care!
Avatar 4:29pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I hear this Van Gogh fella had issues...I dunno - I might need some other Art on my credit card...moral grounds - don'chaknow...
  4:30pm re: Royal Teens:

drummer Tom Austin now active as Fort Lee history author - his father worked at big-time Riviera nightclub formerly atop Palisades across GWB

Avatar 5:00pm geezerette:

Great show Mr. Kelly!
9:07pm Vanity Fare originally named the Avengers in 1966:

- Alas, their drummer of 43 years retired in 2015
- The February 2016 Fare toured Germany with Hermans Hermits, The Tremeloes (2 original musicians), Tony Christie, and whoever's touring as "Ohio Express"
- OE's hit record vocalist Joey Levine also sang your horrid "Life is a Rock" (I did not know that) and on lotsa famous jingles (Mounds), which he still writes (I'm looking for a Camry broken door handle jingle)
  6:53pm screwy louie:

Jack, Jim & Johnny by The Flux Machine sounded incredible! and to follow that song with Baby by The Tasmanians is brilliant. Mr kelly really knows his music, Thank you for a great show..
  8:36pm BK:

Hey, Screwy Louie...I should buy your lunch someday at the very least.
  11:00am Jul Friedman:

Love Motorcycle by Diane and the Gentle Men!!!! Just makes you feel so free.
