ScottC:

There is a shot of Will Shatter photographed by Bruce Conner that is probably in the top 25 Punk Rock photos of all time...Flipper is still relevant. I was at their first live show ( The Temple - 79?) and if anybody would said that would be the case 35 years later they would have gotten a beer shower...

ScottC: Have you seen Bruce Conner's "BreakAway" with Toni Basil?
Think it's on youtube & it's absolutely great.

Hi everyone, good to be here with you this evening. Thanks for Faye for the fill-in spot!

@geezerette: Have been on a small bot of a Toni Basil trip and know the film exactly. www.youtube.com...
  7:21pm
JakeGould:

Wait… Here’s the actual movie… www.youtube.com...

Nah, the first thing is more of the Toni Basil stuff. Never mind.

@JakeGould Thanks for the tip - I'll check it out.

hi folks!

JakeGould:

And FWIW, Toni Basil’s career is fairly envious. Just look up her IMDB and Wiki stuff… She’s much more than just “Mickey” (which is a great tune),

'i'm 28' is a FANTASTIC song by toni

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I guess I don't hate her :
happybday.to... ...
  7:32pm
JakeGould:

She choreographed David Bowie’s “Diamond Dogs” tour, starred in “Easy Rider”, was one of the original “Lockers” which was a breakdancing group that featured Fred Berry from “What’s Happening.” And that’s just the short side of things…
  7:33pm
JakeGould:

And on topic… I’m loving this seamless set. Nice work, DJ!
Avatar 7:39pm
geezerette:

If you ever get a chance to see the whole thing sans talking heads it's worth it. Sh's Peter Fonda's girl of chice in the New Orleans segment of Easy Rider. Karen Black is Hopper's.

So admire that - no idea what those 'African guitarists' are doing ('cross-picking'??) - but love it so - & Horselords are actually make their own thing of it.

This is so good, like you're in a strange city being told a story that you don't understand yet you're transfixed. Previous song even moreso.

P-90:

@RRN63: that "African" style is a finger-picking style. Easier to get real dense picking that way than with a plectrum.
