I would really love to see Circle live someday.

Dean:

Does Secret Oyster count?
Avatar 12:09am
Wm.:

This new live album is like a 70s Magma record, it's that good ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10am
Rory:

Indeed
Avatar 12:10am
Wm.:

@Dean Denmark counts, yes, but I would have had to remember to bring it with me. I'll take a look here, good call, I just spaced on them when I was loading my satchel.
  12:11am
JayD:

Digging this Circle track though it sounds like a trapezoid to me.
  12:15am
Dean:

I'm just riffing. Supersister'd be nice, too. Meanwhile, this Circle is amazing.

Brings me back to the days of KNAC's progressive rock programming.

JayD:

Listening on headphones in the dark, this set is inducing all kinds of synesthesia related imaginings. Gorgeous.

These guys sure listened to a lot of old Genesis !

I'm partial to Rättö ja Lehtisalo, listen to them often @ home, but can never really work them into the "regular" Castle ....

Something about that Hebosagil track reminded me of Kazuki Tomokawa. Great show Wm!

Avatar 1:55am

@Scraps ... does the "deSelby" in your screen name come from the footnotes of The Third Policeman?
Avatar 1:57am
Wm.:

Whup! Never mind...looks like it's your real surname. ...I just thought that would have been a remarkable coincidence as I use names from that novel's footnotes often, as Web aliases ...
Avatar 1:58am
Scraps deSelby:

Well of course! Ahem. Yes. It's one of my favorite books.
Avatar 1:59am
Wm.:

Such a wonderful book! I've used "hatchjaw" and "kraus" before, haha
Avatar 2:00am
Scraps deSelby:

In fact, when I took the name, I looked around and disovered that, as I as I know, O'Brien made up the name.
Avatar 2:02am
Scraps deSelby:

I used Hatchjaw as an internet name also.
Avatar 2:02am
Wm.:

...Have you read the "Myles" stuff? O'Brien's columns & letters from Irish newspapers—? Hilarious!
Avatar 2:03am
Wm.:

...great minds...
Avatar 2:04am
Scraps deSelby:

Yep! In fact, I dug up two more obscure collections of Myles's stuff, other than TheBest of Myles
Avatar 2:05am
Wm.:

Damn!
Avatar 2:06am

Once a year or so I try to read At Swim Two Birds, it's like his Ulysses. I don't think I'm enough of a hallucinating drunkard to grasp that one, haha
Avatar 2:07am
Scraps deSelby:

And the awesome press Dalkey Archive has at least one of those collections in print.
Avatar 2:08am
Wm.:

Yes, the Dalkey Archive! I'll have to look into it, thanks!!
Avatar 2:12am
Scraps deSelby:

I love At Swim Two Birds. It's not thick. When you reach one of the thorny sections, it will pass soon! I think you would think it very funny if you press on... but I'm just a fan, and you already are a fan, so! Now I'm done.

Jesus, I just read your bio. I have three Uncle Wiggly albums. Sometimes I put two or three songs from There Was An Elk on tape/cd mixes. Well, neat!

Avatar 2:47am

'twas another lifetime...Matt W. played U.W. a few weeks ago, a song from Across the Room & Into Your Lap... I was taken aback because I forget that we were good. I need to revisit our works, it's been a while for me.

Geez, i love this place. Music and books i've never heard of before. Scraps, i hope your rehab is going well.
Avatar 2:50am
Scraps deSelby:

Thanks, Michael. Slow but my therapists say it's going well, so....
Avatar 2:53am
Scraps deSelby:

I never saw Uncle Wiggly unfortunately. I saw two shows by Fly Ashtray, but that's probably not quite the same.
Avatar 2:56am
Wm.:

...well at one point we had two members in common with Fly Ashtray, later one, James Kavoussi aka pHoaming Edison. There's definitely some style overlap; if anything, FA are a little more noodly/psych, definitely a 2-guitar band. UW, a bit more pointy/SST, but we shared company and records and influences for sure. Love those guys...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56am
Michael 98145:

Well, take care. G'night.
