ausmanx:

good evening all... just have to mention i was one of the lucky 70 people who had a bed to sleep overnight at the Sydney Opera House on friday for Max Richter's 8-hour event... truly staggering www.theguardian.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16am
sashajones:

Hey, Mark! Congrats on the slot :)

pierre:

very good, apart from a longing lower back pain that as been keeping me from weekly boxing lessons, which I miss a lot. Apart from that good good. The river Seins here in Paris has been having a huge flood also.
  6:17am
Mark R:

Wow aus, that looks like it was amazing. Thanks so much, Sasha!

Ken From Hyde Park:

I'm great this morning. The birds in Radhika Miller's track are a nice wake-up call.
  6:18am
Mark R:

This Radhika Miller track is the absolute most perfect track for this time of day, isn't it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19am
Sem Chumbo:

Good morning, Sasha, and time zone appropriate greetings to all.
@ausmanx, you tall poppy, you. Great envy.

good morning all... !! sad to hear about the paris flooding pierre.. you should volunteer to help them "hold safe" some paintngs from the louvre..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21am
sashajones:

Hey and thanks, ponychampion!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22am
sashajones:

pierre, sorry about your back pain! That's the worst. Cool that you box, though!
  6:22am
Mark R:

I saw Jane Siberry in the 80s at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit--she was great! I'm glad to see she has a new album out.

is today the california primary?
Avatar 6:26am

hi sasha!!
Avatar 6:26am
pierre:

@annie : yeah the Louvre had to move everything, but yeah, I fear more for the poor people that have there house under water. Although I could see myself carry Mona Lisa.

@Sasha : merci :) it's a truly great sport.
  6:27am
Mark R:

Yes Annie--NJ too!
Avatar 6:27am
annie:

i'm praying for an ovewhelming win for bernie in both states.
  6:28am
Mark R:

Yes, but I don't know if it's going to be enough. AP is reporting that Hillary already has enough delegates.
Avatar 6:30am
annie:

i don't believe them at all... and, if that's the case, i hope he goes in to the convention with all barrels loaded to contest this farce of an election season.
Avatar 6:30am
annie:

and i'll stop the politics talk...
  6:31am
Jeffrey:

isn't it really a contested election with the superdelegates still technically up for grabs?
  6:32am
Mark R:

I get that, but the most disastrous possible outcome is if Donald Trump somehow becomes president--I'm sorry, but that's 10 times worse than Hillary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36am
sashajones:

I liked the way Daniel Jose Older put it: "I wanted Sanders to win bu the didn't. I want Trump to lose and I will act and vote accordingly. That's it. It won't be the first or last time I vote for a candidate I don't like or trust. But I'm a capricorn and we're pragmatists and we deal."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36am
sashajones:

I'm a Libra though ;)
Avatar 6:36am
ausmanx:

many of us folks in foreign lands would much prefer you elected Trump. he'll repudiate free trade agreements, build walls, withdraw and leave us alone. and maybe make things so bad in the US that people will finally change the fundamentals. Clinton will be an unmitigated disaster as it will be business as usual, the business which is entrenching poverty and destroying the planet by stealth.
Avatar 6:39am
annie:

i thin k it annoys me the most that she's been promoted by the press as the nominee throughout all these primaries, especially in the states where there have been questionable results and voting issues, and the system does not investigate it. it's a corrupt system all-round. and i ten dot agree with you aus. if it came down to those two, i'd vote trump simply due to my disgust in that lying carpetbagger.
Avatar 6:40am
annie:

ok, now i'll stop
  6:40am
Mark R:

Well I've stated my position and I will now respectfully withdraw. This music transcends all petty political squabbles.
Avatar 6:41am
annie:

indubitably, mark^
  6:42am
ponychampion:

just in case Hillary is reading i want her to know that I would have a beer with her :)
Avatar 6:42am

That sounds brilliant Annie. Have you seen any musicals recently you have particularly enjoyed?

the last live performance i saw was the ALO production of "Magic Flute"; i was so desparate to see it i offred a ticket to anyone who would come get me and drive me there. it was fabulous, and my companion totally grokked and dug the performance. i may have to do the same with MoLaM

on that track there was a line towards the beginning of the song where you could hear Bobbie Gentry sort of spit into the mic -no one cut the high end out- great raw moment
