Hey there Ken, and of course RRN63.

PMD:

Don't play anything good - I have to bike home and don't listen to music when I bike
Avatar 8:16pm
Dave Mandl:

@PMD: I'll try to play only the worst music.

Mariachi:

Somehow I'd never heard of Generator Sound Art before. Thanks!

Avatar 8:40pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Jaypers Carmichael. Has it rained out there in recent memory?
  8:42pm
JakeGould:

@Carmichael: Mama, mia! I live on the 4th floor of a 4 floor walkup and the AC is on mainly to make the humidity go away since it’s like the top shelf of an oven here. 105F? You popping popcorn or what?
  8:42pm
PMD:

Thanks Dave! I am back now
Avatar 8:44pm
Dave Mandl:

Hey Carnichael. Yow, sorry to hear that. It's actually been pretty pleasant here on the east coast, but I don't know how long it'll last.
Avatar 8:44pm
Dave Mandl:

@PMD: OK, switching to the good music now.
  8:45pm
JakeGould:

@DaveMandl: Dude… Pleasant? The NYC humidity! Might be nicer near the shore. Miss growing up near the beach where it was always 10 degrees cooler.

Jeffy Jazz:

The REAL dub!
Avatar 8:49pm

Good evening, Dave! great sets so far! Speaking of ghetto, I'll also be listening to the Avant Ghetto at 3:00am!
  8:50pm
JakeGould:

@Dave: True. Just been sweating (ha!) the details of prepping my apartment for the real summer heat so it’s on my mind.
Avatar 8:54pm
Dave Mandl:

Evening, joeray. A wise choice.
  8:54pm
Jeffy Jazz:

Really enjoying the set, Dave! I'll have to go archival for Gen Ken and Susan Alcorn!
Avatar 8:54pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...okay yeah - so it's the return of Rave-era 1990s types of music apparently? Some of that Technodelic stuff we were giving some time to then - wondering if that might be some kind of future after Cobain took Punk & guitars to some awful conclusion - but not really knowing...Well - kewl track anyhow...
  9:04pm
Carmichael:

It's a dry heat ... I'm lucky to own a pool, but still, you don't even want to go outside at all. And a beer or two will just take you down for the count.
  9:04pm
Carmichael:

This is semi Fairport, no?
Avatar 9:07pm
Dave Mandl:

@Carmichael: Definitely, a few common members.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08pm

True.

Cliff (moving to Prague!):

Station Mashgiach Ken has played some stuff on his show from a duo in China who named themselves Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes. But they were probably being ironic, and they're in China so not likely to get in any legal trouble, and they've already broken up besides.
Avatar 9:51pm
Dave Mandl:

Yeah, there's the legal thing, but I'm not even talking about that. It just feels weird to me, adopting someone else's identity. I don't really get the motivation.
Avatar 10:00pm
Dave Mandl:

Night, folks. Thanks for listening and have a great week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm
melinda:

Thanks dave
  10:08pm
Cliff (moving to Prague!):

I'm getting lots of Falco vibes from this Jan Jelinek track
  10:09pm
Cliff (moving to Prague!):

Derp, posted on the wrong playlist, ooops!
  10:15pm
Cliff (moving to Prague!):

Well while I'm here: Agreed Dave, adopting another person's identity is kind of creepy and can easily backfire. How you name things is important.

(....sez the guy using Oscar Wilde as his avatar....I should just stop now!)
