He said he figured it's because you can't get out from your own formula as long as you play stuff from your collection (and he did have a huge collection,) even when it's shuffled. But on the radio you never know where you'd be taken to and even songs you know sound different because the context is different/new. I thought it was interesting

I was afraid they'd blown off course from the short, as they had the long legs of a wading bird, but evidently they like golf courses and parking lots. They resided on my bldg's lot until just about a week ago, offering birdsong I'd never heard before. No idea where they went.
