Hello, Fred! Great to see you here.

fred:

I guess your job keeps you too busy for a regular slot. Good for you, bad for me...
Avatar 6:20am
Mike VL:

Yes, still the case unfortunately. But I'm still trying to sit in Studio A once every few months at least.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22am
fred:

Nice Fahey track with bits of Dies Irae thrown in, though I'm not a Fahey fan

Will:

The church'll get you like a case of anthrax.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28am
fred:

I always wondered how Anthrax came to be ranked as one of the big four. I guess having a church helps

Wait a second, I recognize that bed music... can it be?

Hey Sem! Halfway through No Great Mischief, the style is a little ponderous, but having seen that Cape Breton centered performance last year (we have an anchor) helps filling in the blanks. Looks like words are not coming easily to convey your part of the world
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26am
Sem Chumbo:

That's a fine observation; the Scots never lost their sense of displacement after they were forced off the land and wound up in Cape Breton---another place of exile, as it is often thought of in Canada.

Hi Sem. I'll leave that to our Highland brethren. Though, I have been known to enjoy the odd ceilidh (and I do mean odd, as in weird).

Brightening up what is a dreary day here on the jurassic coast in Brexit Land. Loving the archie shepp, and most other things. thanks mike.

Mike VL:

Wynford...thanks for saying so. Glad you're here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50am

It was nice hearing interesting Archie Shepp tracks. Over here he's become a boring token of free jazz cred, which makes no sense at all
Avatar 7:59am
terribilia:

i like this little background groove

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Jazz set was good for the soul. If he'd only done 'Love Supreme' - that would be enuff - but geez - Thanks, Rudy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08am
fred:

I kinda like how Rudy Van Gelder endorsed the digital formats and basically said it was the engineer's job to make it sound good.
Avatar 8:08am
Mike VL:

Thanks Rabbit. Agreed! The legendary and even not-legendary, but still high quality recording sessions done there are astounding.

Rusty Bryant!? Archie Shepp. oh yeah - thanks
