Usually not one to appreciate words in music. Strangely, I really enjoy this show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm
Dan Bodah:

I guess one of the things about the show is that the words are often used instrumentally

Kat in Chicago:

I have a friend who says that's how he hears all music with vocals. His brain doesn't engage with them as "lyrics" so much.

@Kat Hits a little close to home.

Kat in Chicago:

I think part of the reason I started listening to more experimental and dance music is I got tired of stupid lyrics

bodahcar:

Ahh,my parents would have loved that Cuckoo Waltz
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
Kat in Chicago:

Specifically techno and sample-based music where words are mostly used as hooks or texture

bodahcar:

OK lookin forward to hearing something from vol.s 1 and 2!

Kat in Chicago:

Overdosed on indie rock I guess!

Ken From Hyde Park:

Sometimes I think it'd be great to have a throat singer on one of those TV talent shows. But then, they'd likely ridicule the artist and go ruin it for everyone.

Kat in Chicago:

@KFHP for sure.

I miss Tony...just knowing him casually from being around performances etc. He was so witty and cordial. And brilliant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm
Kat in Chicago:

I bet. You were fortunate to have made his acquaintance!

A 1974 album by Julius Eastman, Femenine, has just been released. Reviewed here: pitchfork.com... Sad story -- what an artist!
