Avatar 9:28am
Joe McG:

Hey, Ken! Hey, Brian! Are you having a galette right now?
Avatar 9:31am
bobdoesthings:

Galette: Galette is a term used in French cuisine to designate various types of flat round or freeform crusty cakes, or, in the case of a Breton galette (French: Galette bretonne, Breton: Krampouezhenn gwinizh du), a pancake made with buckwheat flour usually with a savoury filling.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 9:32am
Brian in UK:

No wish I was. Got no buckwheat flour in the house. I prefer the coarser texture to that of smoother pancakes. Also a bit more versatile both savoury and sweet.

My grandma didn't add sugar to her yogurt (madzoon), but she did live to 95! It was more of a condiment in my family, to be dolloped onto various savory lamb dishes. Recently there was a newspaper ad war because the Wall Street Journal printed a full page ad paid for by genocide deniers. Kim Kardashian got some revenge with a full-page rebuttal ad in the NYT.

From the Good Grey's obit for Laudermilk, concerning the "Cherokees" song:

Mr. Loudermilk, who enjoyed telling a good story, convinced the D.J. Casey Kasem that he had been inspired to write the song when he was stranded by the roadside during a blizzard and a mysterious Cherokee chief, Bloody Bear Tooth, led him to safety and asked him to tell the rest of the world, in song, of the sufferings of his people.

Mr. Kasem repeated the tale on his radio program “American Top 40,” giving it currency. In a wink to record buyers, Mr. Loudermilk added “P.S. My regards to Bloody Bear Tooth” on the sleeve of his 1971 album “Volume 1: Elloree.”
