The first time I heard "I am the Cosmos", the original version, was on WFMU when I was really sick and in the hospital. I was so sick, I thought I was hallucinating that after singing "I really want to see you again" over and over, Chris Bell then sang "I never want to see you again". It wasn't until much later that I realized it was no hallucination. The Posies' version does Chris Bell amazingly well. Thanks for playing it.

I think Gene Kelly was pretty unhappy with the way the song was used in Clockwork. It's certainly one of the most disturbing scenes ever filmed, I really admire Adrienne Corri's courage in enduring the number of takes involved in filming it.

@Rev Rabbit: same here. I was a hyperactive kid, but something about 2001 just shut me up and stopped me, even when my folks took me with them to see it in the theater some time in the early-mid 70s.

If anyone here knows a good youtube example of how to properly peel a pomegranate, I'd appreciate a link. I'm just kind of hacking at the fruit haphazardly.
  7:00pm
JakeGhould:

@Ken: Here you go! “In just over 2 minutes, you can completely de-seed a pomegranate and have fun doing it!” www.youtube.com...
  7:02pm
JakeGhould:

@Ken: Also, that video has the most pomegranate smacking I have ever seen in my life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

@JakeGhould - Great, thanks. A lot of violent pomegranate paddling, for sure.
  7:05pm

Avatar 7:07pm

I avoided pomegranates until learning about whacking them to get the seeds out. Now, I still avoid them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm

I love how in French the word for pomegranate is grenade. Matter of fact, I think the word grenade for the weapon comes from the fruit, which makes sense.
  7:10pm
JakeGhould:

Makes sense, since much like a grenade, I don’t want a pomegranate anywhere near me.
