I saw Doug mention a drive crash. I have been without my home computer for a week, and today it is ready to pick up for the shop. They asked me if my 2nd hard drive had anything valuable on it, and I was like: "That's where I keep my mp3s, and all of my audio visual things." USB sticks easily mislaid.
I'd recommend weekly backup up to 2 destinations e.g. 2 external hard drives or external hard drive plus cloud.
Reason being that any hard drive can fail anytime.
Same story with any particular backup method e.g. as in Doug's case discovering that cloud backup hadn't actually been backing up stuff for some time due to some weird error resulting in loss of treasured sounds.
