Good shout for England as well! Go visit Yorkshire which has dramatic countryside, the birthplace of industrial revolution, and really amazing cheap ale.

I recently saw Marisa Anderson at National Sawdust. She was wonderful and reminded me so much of this show. When I purchased her record afterwards I asked her if she was familiar with the program, and she told me she had actually been a guest! Serendipity!!

@Cooh John: I hardly watch anything anymore - too much to listen to now.
I love in this NPR interview Shirley Collins says she used to do field research of elder singers - & now being older she is like one of them herself : www.npr.org...
Such a humble personable Lady.

I admire your resourcefulness this morning, Jeffrey, scouring the web far and wide for digital-only self-releases. Wow! Where else would these wonderful artists get any exposure?
  7:32am
Mark R:

These fellows Simon and Garfunkel, for example--I would have never heard of them. I'll have to see if they have any other albums out.
Avatar 7:36am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@MarkR: Start w/ this whole album on 'Come to the Sunshine': www.podomatic.com...
In a way it's true: When the great 1960s albums & their influence are discussed - how often does 'Bookends' come up? I always thot it came a few years later - it was a bit ahead!...

Sean:

That Franklin Kiermyer is maybe the best thing I've ever heard. Thank you.
