I was astonished when I realized that he was in Uncle Wiggly. I liked them, and I tracked down all their records twenty years ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40am
coelacanth:

he'll bounce back. he might need a slight lifestyle change though. my father had a stroke at a later age than Wm. and came back to nearly the same cantankerous pain in the ass as he would've been.

I read about his poor health and was broken. Just had another friend hospitalized with diabetes recently. 2016 indeed has been rough. I really wish him well. Healing takes time.

i did, Scraps - though i wasn't thinking about it just then when i posted.
...i'm assuming it was a small one or he wouldn't be home already.
...and that's not to say any stroke is small.

That's why it's a very good thing (i suspect) that he's already back home

Just saw Gary Beydler's name in playlist & did a double take.
I saw his film "Hand Held Day" when I was a student and knew him very slightly from openings ,friends in common.
"Hand Held Day" is poetry. It killed me that he stopped making art, glad he began again, didn't know he was gone.
Skip the youtube but if any of you get a chance to see his work do so. He was the real thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53am
coelacanth:

i WILL see those films, g. Thanks.

Thanks geezerette. I remember seeing (and being influenced by) his work when I was a student too. Haven't seen any of the films though. Just the still photos with mirrors.

Jherweg, sorry about your wife's birthday. Sometimes there's no winning with these things. Personally I kind of like the idea of a terrible birthday cake. It's the kind of thing that could make a nice tradition: the annual search for the worst cake ever!
