	7:09pm Linda Lee: same thing takes shape between men & women all the time. taking the lead, talking over, talking louder, talking more. & marginalized people are accustomed to allowing that.
	7:34pm Marc15: When I was in college I faced great homophobia. My boyfriend at the time always wanted to hold hands and on occasion kiss me in public. I went to school in the late 1980s to early 1990s and this was rarely done in the suburbs of NJ. I felt bad in a way because my boyfriend loved me so much that he was brave enough to deal with the homophobia from people around us; and I felt like a coward who did not want to to deal with the homophobia.
	7:39pm kimzilla: Damn Marc15, its hard to be brave when you fear for your safety. I'm glad things are progressively getting better, its looking back at history that reminds us of those little steps forward.
	7:40pm Hypertoast: Such a great and enlightening interview with Safia. it's so sad but not that surprising that that kind of overt racism still happens. As a white guy, you'd be surprised(or maybe you wouldn't) by how comfortable racists think that I'll be a confidant or sympathize with whatever horrible thing they feel like telling me. I never let it slide and they will usually back peddle. It's not all the time and every time I'm like "you guys are still out there?" We all definitely have more work to do. I'ts great that there are people out there helping us and teaching us how to be better allies.

	7:49pm Marc15: @kimzilla It definitely was difficult to be brave. Looking back, I will always admire his bravery. We were together for 10 years, 1988-1998. I consider my relationship with him my most solid of all of my relationships.
	7:53pm Linda Lee: Mr. Sugimoto's recollection of internment is heartbreaking to hear. this is only first-person recollection i've heard. unfortunately the dance tunes distract me sometimes.
	7:54pm Linda Lee: sort of a strange juxtaposition ... horrible recollections & dance tunes.
