Good morning, Mr Brainen and other Brainiacs.

Sunny and cold in west Toronto.
Avatar 9:07am annie:

good morning guy and mr brainen, still cloudy here and 6-ish inches of snow in asheville. still lightly falling flurries
Avatar 9:08am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Which DJ (mighta been here) noted the list of Artists that ToddR had only worked w/ - once?: always great results - but somehow didn't come back for 2nds...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am guy mauve:

hi annie,

not to pry, but is that a lot of snow for asheville?
  9:17am Jeff and Marilyn:

We are transplanted Bob Brainen fans from Jersey to right outside of Asheville. Looks like 8 inches out here in Fairview which is lot for this mountainous community.
  9:18am Stuart Rose:

Good morning and Happy New Year, Bob, and all the Brainen loyalists.

  9:34am Cooh John:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am melinda:

hi annie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46am melinda:

I watched the FMU documentary last night, recommend it to any who haven't seen it yet. Sex and Broadcasting.
Avatar 9:50am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...hehe - Andy Partridge - ♏Scorpio...
  9:52am Ilya:

sex is so significant to be the title?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:52am Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, Bob, and listeners to Bob.

@melinda: where'd you see the doc?
  9:55am Ilya:

I'm sorry, I'm drunk
  9:58am Ilya:

Russian always drunk
  9:58am Ilya:

But gentle
Avatar 9:59am mauri:

Do you tap your neck with a front finger?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am melinda:

It's the title of a book mentioned in the film, no sex involved. I watched on amazon, 3.99 I think for 7 day access.
Avatar 10:01am mauri:

I checking it out on amazon too. Gonna watch it this evening.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:01am Sem Chumbo:

@Ilya: he word *sex* in the title was an ironic reference to Western consumerism, where the word *sex* in the title of a book or music album ( SEX PISTOLS) or in the headline of any news guarantees more attention.
Not very much sex in the documentary at all, I hear.

@mauri: how's that guaranteed annual income thing going? You in the pilot project? :-D
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:02am Sem Chumbo:

Thanks@melinda.
  10:05am Ilya:

Western consumerism is really there?
Avatar 10:05am mauri:

Sem. Its inert :D I will have some business courses during spring so maybe I can start something next year. Probably lots of school stuff on the way so. someday.
  10:06am blaumann:

Great, a DJ that mumbles and speaks to softly to be understood
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07am melinda:

Does Asheville shut down with that much snow?
  10:07am Robbie White:

today is Michelle Phillip's birthday
Avatar 10:08am Nanker de Tucson:

as a child, joan crawford and bette davis used to confuse me ; never could tell them apart
Avatar 10:10am annie:

pretty much melinda. much the same as DC. the main reason, though, is that we are surrounded by hills, valleys, pockets, hollows, etc. so literally many microclimates to work with. black ice is prevalant here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am Ken From Hyde Park:

Head for the slopes! www.onthesnow.com... Before it all melts.
Avatar 10:12am Nanker de Tucson:

Lake Tahoe, Salt Lake City, Aspen areas will have a good, long 2017 snow season ; another 15-24" headed that way soon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am guy mauve:

I hope the critters have winter strategies down in Asheville.
Avatar 10:22am SmokinJ:

Yea Brummels!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22am melinda:

I was visiting DC once when a relatively large snow dump happened, and residents were saying that the city had done a much better job of clearing streets than usual. They looked pretty crappy to me, so I assumed it was a matter of poor city services, since you hear that kind of thing about DC in general. But maybe it's just not worth clearing if it will melt away soon.
  10:30am mrmucho:

"What's the matter with Helen" is not a good film
  10:39am Artanker:

What was the name of the blogspot Bob mentioned?
Avatar 10:51am Nanker de Tucson:

I was in D of C walking near 7th & E when the Air Florida jet crashed into 14th St bridge over the Potomac ; miserable day all around, not just weather
Avatar 10:55am Nanker de Tucson:

Another excellent show today, BB !
  10:57am Stuart Rose:

Who would think some of us(moi included) would be rediscovering Gary Lewis and the Playboys? Lush studio sound and tuneful as heck.
Avatar 10:59am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Stuart: Look up an episode of 'Come to the Sunshine' (a great program).
