While we're waiting: "All artists played by Irwin Chusid" is a list with 9,390 entries in it.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:08pm

That list does not (yet) contain "Appletree Theatre" so it will probably be longer by the time the next three hours have passed.

I play WFMU for my six year old every chance I get. Is that ok?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:20pm
rrg:

Dean is wrong, though. I don't know Klingon but to quote an Internet commenter (and he couldn't say it if it weren't true):

"I was digging the song, until it got to the part about learning Klingon being a waste of time. Learning languages is a great way to exercise the mind and helps to fend off dementia in later life. The brain is just like a muscle, and needs to be worked to continue to be strong. If you're geeky enough to learn Klingon, you may have also learned a few computer programming languages, for example, or a musical instrument. Or you may know other 'human' spoken languages.

Saying don't learn Klingon is like saying don't learn to play the ukulele. Even if it does absolutly nothing but give you a few hours of amusement every week, it's not a waste of time."

I believe I have seen that list before... and did a little copyediting on it.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:23pm

It needs more, Laura. But I think it may be automatically generated from the DB so Irwin would have to make the changes on 15 years of playlists.

But he LOVES that sort of thing.

New topic: if you're looking for an interesting current film, I highly recommend "NORMAN: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer." I've seen it twice in the past four days, and it's fascinating. Avoid if you're an anti-Semite, because it's wall-to-wall Jews (or non-Jews playing Jews, e.g., Richard Gere, who, for a WASP, plays a convincing Norman Oppenheimer; and Steve Buscemi as a rabbi). Great script, dialogue, and characters. Music supervision by Hal Willner. There isn't a flat moment in the flick.

That stuff that’s bad for babies? Kinda reminds me of when Eleanor Roosevelt setup some child protection stuff in NYC and had a guide for older kids caring for younger kids that said something along the lines of, “Don’t put a baby on the oven. They might get burned.”

Yes Irwin. I'm just reading Steely Dan FAQ. One of not enough books in my opinion. I'm just steaming about how marc maron whenever he has a musical guest on his podcast tries to goad them into saying they don't like the Dan, becuase he doesn't, because slickness or something. Irwin, thanks for the Tom Wilson last night. I remember buying Playback around 1969. Still sounded fresh hearing it again.
Terry Boylan's solo follow up Alias Boona did have the first recorded work by Becker & Fagan on it as all three went to Bard College. Kool Katz.
Playback does benefit from having some top notch musicians.
