"Jenifa" is a brilliant examination of teenage romance in 1980s black middle class Long Island. Maggie Thrett was an actress who somehow also made this insanely catchy and funky number. I recently put these songs together on a comp I made for a friend named Jennifer who's going through a rough time. It's like my world is collapsing in loveliness right now. GO SHEILA B!
