V Priceless:

Webb wrote it for them, but they bailed because it was too long and they didn't want to battle over which band members tunes would have to be sacrificed in order to fit it on the LP. I guess no one considered double LPs in '68!

Gilbert Gottfried had Jimmy Webb on his podcsat a few month back. Of course Jimmy had to duet with Gilbert.

Comment on Can's "Turtles"-track at DISCOGS:

WARNING: Do NOT listen to "Turtles Have Short Legs" in your car at anything near high volume, if you are driving at highway speed. The irresistible rhythms will overcome your self-control. Your head will start thrashing back and forth as if it had a mind of its own; your body will flail around like a marionette on strings; and you will find yourself shouting "AND WE GO MARCHING ON!!!" over and over again at the top of your lungs... all while you're sitting behind the wheel and working the pedals. This will cause your car to jerk back and forth and swerve around unpredictably in close proximity to other vehicles. How do we know this? Don't ask.

Bahamian grooves. Nice.
Do you have 'Burma Road' by Ronnie Butler, by chance?
Some Joseph Spence is always welcome.
(Drat, missed my chance)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45am
Brian in UK:

Stanley, sounds good maybe some steel pans. Robert Greenidge (good Trinidadian name) or Winston Spree.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46am
Brian in UK:

Whatever happened to Professor Membrane?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49am
Stanley:

I love 'Burma Road', towards the end the song degenerates into a list of foods he loves to eat. Joseph Spence was a big fan of chinese food.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51am
Stanley:

I believe he's still doing the usual seperation and filtration service.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am
