A live, improvised sound collage experiment, going back 28 years, weaving mesmerizing new soundscapes from found and collected materials right in the present moment.
Pop music, speeches, live phone calls and spontaneous monologues become ambient loopy layered threads riding the liminal spaces between waking and dreaming. [On hiatus.] (Visit homepage.)

Favoriting August 16, 2017: Act and Move On & Long and gentle (How many mistakes?) | Download full MP4

Here, two more dream-making sound collage creations from earlier live radio performances in Charlottesville, VA:

First, "Act and Move On (If you miss the faux pearls, you get the ducks.)", one of my all-time favorites, originally collaged live on radio in July 2012.

Second, a portion of "Long and gentle (How many mistakes?)", from Oct. 2012.

This show is about people, and things and ideas, all coming into contact.
Not going with the flow
Gravity (perhaps it's just another word for fate)
Fields around us
It's all so easy once you let go
There's magic in three
It's no good being just one
You're the real person
This program changed my life
These two-minute sections
Act and move on
(If you miss the faux pearls, you'll get the ducks.)
Call without response
Just another shell game
Space departments all around me
Go down to the basement, play with the computer
All the people on this earth are truly one
You always wanted to put more things on than you had tracks for.
I like to introduce things
Doing it in real life
All coming into contact

Alex Jones and Negativland's Over the Edge and Ken's Last Ever, together at last
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Rich in Washington:

I ended up with several large boxes of PSAs on CD from the Ad Council, etc. Apparently, the station's news and public affairs director had been hoarding them in her office for many years for some reason, rather than throw them out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Rich in Washington:

wish Alex Jones and Don Joyce were together at last, if you know what I mean.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm Rich in Washington:

my peace loving heart, not your PSA show.
Avatar 5:33pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I used to love doing cart-based PSA show segments. But one day I, too, came into a box of PSA CD's from the station backlog, so that show happened
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Rich in Washington:

When the news person I mentioned earlier finally retired, a bunch of us did an hourlong show of playing all the PSAs as quickly as possible, several at the same time, cutup live, etc, in her honor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm fred:

This administration may yield some surreal PSAs "Some Nazis are very fine people. If you're one, go to ss.gov and register for a storming good time". Ugh, I thought we were in trouble, but it's getting worse
