Billy Miller - another terrible loss for rock and roll. Hard to believe it's been a year.
Avatar 12:08pm Joe B:

William Shatner! yay!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Parq:

Dennis works with all of the greats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Rich in Washington:

Fred Cole especially hits hard for me, being a Portlander at heart (I live a mere stone's throw away).
Even before Dead Moon, before I knew WHO they were, I would spend time at Fred and Toody's fantastic guitar shop Tombstone Music. Fred traded me my Kay Jupiter for a Big Muff, which was a huge game-changer for me. Now I don't know which of those two items I wish I had more.
  12:11pm Nick K (Killer):

LOVE THIS SHOW

Happy Odd Couple Day Joe!
Avatar 1:44pm Paul In Bloomfield:

Hi Joe, what is your background music? killer guitar tone on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Rich in Washington:

I love how he makes fun of the pronunciation of Oregon, that GUN that grates on real Oregonians.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Rich in Washington:

I meant GONE.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Rich in Washington:

This group was just pre-Dead Moon. I think the Range Rats was the evolutionary stage between this and The Rats.
  1:48pm artingu:

thanks for the excellent music esp the banjo track, listened while cooking up dinner here
Avatar 1:50pm Joe B:

Hey Paul, it's the ventures' version of night train, on the walk don't run vol. 2 LP

@Joe B, working late here in Glasgow and it's a treat to catch the show live. I always listen in on archive and get down so it's good to have the opportunity to comment and show my appreciation. THANX!

Avatar 1:59pm KRYPT:

Hey Paul and hey hey everyone!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Jeff formerly from Rahway:

I never got to see Dead Moon or Pierced Arrows live. Their last few NYC shows sold out before I even knew they were playing :-(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Rich in Washington:

Fred's guitar tone is incredible.
Avatar 2:27pm V Priceless:

great session + trib, JB - amazing you guys were able to pull this off so close to 9/11
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks for that, Joe! That's an amazing set. I've not heard it before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Devin B.:

Thanks for this, Joe. I only got to see Dead Moon once, at Yo Yo a Go Go in Olympia. Can't remember if it was '99 or '01. Still one of my favorite shows ever. RIP Fred. RIP Andrew. Dead Moon forever!
Avatar 2:28pm Joe B:

the set is up on the Free Music Archive if you'd like to download it
Avatar 2:29pm Joe B:

also on there is Pierced Arrows at WFMU's 2010 SXSW show and Fred and Toody duo show here in 2013 on Distort Jersey City with Reed
Avatar 2:31pm Brian Turner:

They were so insanely great at our SXSW show.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:35pm KevinfromBayRidge:

You make me aware of musical losses that I didn't even realize existed! Unfortunately this is happening way too much. Thanks Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm northguineahills:

I knew of the Pierced Arrows, but I don't think I've heard the sounds of his other projects. thanks Joe!
Avatar 2:42pm Chris from DC:

Aw, fond memories of seeing Dead Moon with Borther JT a while back.
Avatar 2:43pm Chris from DC:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Rich in Washington:

Holy crap. I forgot they covered this. Wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm BennettCap:

I just turned the radio back on, looked at the time, and said, "Oh no! I'm almost out of Joe!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Rich in Washington:

I posted a Pierced Arrows set from a 2007 in-studio performance from KBOO at Archive.org. You can google it after the show. I won't post an audio link on the board during a show as I think it's rude.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Hoboken Jack:

Have been in Florham Park sans radio but wanted to check in and say hi!
Avatar 2:54pm Joe B:

thanks rich will check it out. you can post it here if you'd like
