	♥ 12:54pm coelacanth∅: i discovered Mr.Menche a few years ago while image searching "odradek". 6 albums have helped me sleep ever since then, but never heard "sleeper" until a few months ago when some folks on these here comment boards suggested it. it's my favorite for now.
	♥ 12:55pm TDK60: When I saw him, he had a table full of electronic stuff. He also had a long hollow tube hooked up; hummed into it and got massive vocal sounds like some big monster. His whole body vibrated. Offstage, mild-mannered.

	♥ 1:01pm Rich in Washington: Daniel is a really reserved, down to earth guy when he's not on stage. He's very cool. I once watched a performance by him and two or three little kids during a street fair. The kids where going absolutely apeshit on guitar and bass. One kid was screaming into a microphone. I don't remember what Daniel ws doing. It was insane. Then they threw hundreds of super balls in the room, which went everywhere. After the set, I asked a sweat-drenched, exhausted Daniel if those were his kids and he said 'No! I WISH!'. They were students at the school where he worked. He talked them into doing a crazy performance. It was brilliant.

	♥ 1:15pm Rich in Washington: I have a field recording somewhere of that street fair performance. I think i recall that it was way distorted, due to the extreme volume. It was done in a tiny gelato shop during a great noise experimental festival that used to occur in North Portland called No Fest.

	♥ 1:24pm Rich in Washington: I produced the live remote simulcast for KBOO in, I think 2010 and it was just a mess. The people coordinating the main stage and doing the sound didn't have a clue of what they were doing. It was a technical nightmare. So many great live acts, though.

These are the societies of control, which are in the process of replacing disciplinary societies. “Control” is the name Burroughs proposes as a term for the new monster, one that Foucault recognizes as our immediate future. Paul Virilio also is continually analyzing the ultrarapid forms of free-floating control that replaced the old disciplines operating in the time frame of a closed system. There is no need to invoke the extraordinary pharmaceutical productions, the molecular engineering, the genetic manipulations, although these are slated to enter the new process. There is no need to ask which is the toughest regime, for it’s within each of them that liberating and enslaving forces confront one another. No soundtrack at the time, just the sound of these crazy scenarios of killer bots and severed pig/chicken heads, and mark Pauline and crew running around like maniacs. Priceless!

I once watched a performance by him and two or three little kids during a street fair. The kids where going absolutely apeshit on guitar and bass. One kid was screaming into a microphone. I don't remember what Daniel ws doing. It was insane. Then they threw hundreds of super balls in the room, which went everywhere. After the set, I asked a sweat-drenched, exhausted Daniel if those were his kids and he said 'No! I WISH!'. They were students at the school where he worked. He talked them into doing a crazy performance. It was brilliant.
