Love these pieces of Hardin solo on the street. Amazing that they are all just him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm

He had some (unknown to me) collaborators as you will hear.
  5:18pm
ruth:

Hi everybody. Moondog was a fixture of my childhood! I often had lunch with my Dad near his office in midtown or went to MOMA (one of the first places I was allowed to go alone!) He sometimes stood near the library at 5th Ave.and 42nd St. as well as a little further uptown. Viking helmet on head.
  5:19pm

I think he was the first man with long hair I ever saw in person.

Indeed, fred. He made some influential friends. That is part of the mystique eh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm
fred:

I guess it's part of why he wasn't forgotten. Sadly, quality of music is often not enough
  5:53pm
ruth:

I never saw him playing with anybody else in the street. I mostly remember him either just standing there or maybe reciting stuff, poems maybe?? he had some percussion implements, bells I think and a staff of some kind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm
fred:

I wonder what Graham did with this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm

Truth, fred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm

David!

Having a bad day w/ Americans in the wild w/ work. I’ll need a drink when I get back to the hotel.

(It is balanced by a nice Colombian guy on Monday who gave me the same medication I needed for my affliction the last time it was a problem [topical]. He didn’t ask, saw me, and just went to his cabinet and gave a lot. I wept later for the kindness. The medication is working.

There was a tribute record to Moondog by (mostly) French musicians released many years ago. I never heard it, but it featured Ilitch, Dragibus, David Fenech and probably other people I know

There are many, many tributes and covers. For this show I opted to use material where (I think) he was in the room. The list of folks who wanted to honor him is stunning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm
fred:

@Micharl 98145: That's probably it! I only heard about it from people I know who told me they contributed to it. I'm most intrigued by the Dragibus cover, as it was a kid music band
