The job was terribly boring, so we had little competitions to see who found things like the weirdest job for the day/week/duration, saddest story, highest and lowest income, things like that. Weirdest job of all-time winner was some dude whose only task was to light cigarettes for monkeys

Mary (@1.49) yes of course -yours being a prime example; and i appreciate a beautiful playlist. but an accurate playlist is not necessary to enjoy good radio... and my guess is, in Stan's case (though surely you know how accurate this is or not) he just wants to do radio, and dealing with the playlist is a distraction and a burden.
i definitely would've felt the same at the time these playlists started.

...it is true though that many people don't know how bad the paper industry is for the planet. during that era when we were asked "paper or plastic" i always said plastic, and friends would look at me like i'm an imposter.
... "paper" bottles? i don't know.
depends on what they line it with i guess -whether or not it can be recycled.
glass is recycled, but usually just as filler in asphalt roads. not something we actually need, but at least it's reused.
