A bit jealous of expatriates like Storky. You're allowed to leave the country you're in and travel to other places! I'm nervous about even going to Queens. I took the subway to Flushing yesterday but couldn't really enjoy it because I was nervous about the virus. I put extra mask layers on at one point when there were unmasked idiots around me the on train.
Avatar 1:46pm
Wolfgang, or Stork - the name keeps chaning itsel:

I wish it were that simple, Ike. It's tricky at the German and the American end right now. Just to visit my family, I would need to quaratine there, and again back here before I could return to work. And I've lost a lotta work so there's that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm
Ike:

Oh right, I forgot you like to travel to the US to visit *us*. I was thinking selfishly -- like, I'd love to go to Malaysia or Indonesia or South Africa. I assume you could theoretically do that. I cannot.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:53pm
chresti:

Ike, you can go to Tahiti, I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm
Ike:

Sorry to hear you've lost work as well, that sucks giant armadillo cojones. I should consider myself lucky....

@chresti, never been much for islands, and I'd be pretty nervous about getting inside a locked flying tube with the recycled air of my fellow countrymen for hours!
Avatar 2:02pm
Wolfgang, or Stork - does it matter?:

Yeah, I really worry about y'all more than the folks here. America is just melting down. Sorry you can't travel, Ike. I really hope for change - like November-y change. Please?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:04pm

Croatia was open, not sure if it still is. My son and his partner have been scoping out places they could escape to if the the orange balloon continues being potus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm
Ike:

That's true, Croatia sounds like a fantastic place to visit too, based on what little I've heard about it. Wish I could hop in a TARDIS and teleport there. As for November, don't even get me started, I could rant for hours about incompetent, rich nationalist kleptocratic maniacs and all the damage they're doing. It's happening in Brazil, the Philippines, Russia, etc. as well....

Avatar 2:19pm
Okay, now it's back to Stork - go figure:

chresti: I can't imagine Croatian being any easier, but any language is a big hill to climb. Wouldn't wanna have to learn it at this point in life. All the same, I think it's a lot harder at first, but because of all the connections with English, it really is doable.

Don't be alarmed, spoiodi. Your goofball DJ was just throwing out a quote from that film where Humphrey Bogart is preparing to assasinate a president, and he kidnaps a roomful of people. Great quote for radio.

Later Shepp albums have a wonderful, deep tenor sound and approach, but this is a but of a surprise, being from 1963 (was it before he became a fire breathing player?)

Anybody know the name of that Bogart movie, so I can sleep tonight? His plan was to shoot the president as his motorcade drove by the window.

I think it was, DrJ. It's interesting how Gullen (baritone) and Shepp play off each other here - really seamlessly. It sounds like one guy, but it's two.
