News From the Freeform Front

Changes in the AM

WFMU bids farewell to Nachum Segal, who hosted JM in the AM on WFMU’s airwaves weekday mornings from 6-9am for over 30 years. As we transition, WFMU will broadcast freeform music programming weekdays from 6-9am over the air and over the web. In January 2017, we will be introducing a brand new music-oriented morning show, stay tuned for details!

‘Tis the season to consume!

Follow your materialistic instincts to the WFMU Store: new items just added! Snag a treat for yourself or give the gift of WFMU swag to your friends and loved ones: we’ve got flasks, T-shirts, knit hats, water bottles, stickers, and more! Orders placed by Dec. 12th will arrive in time for Chrimbus.

Get to know Bosco, WFMU’s Mascot

Some key factoids about WFMU’s new mascot: Bosco was born in Listener Judy’s laundry hamper and is currently on his third life at age 16. Bosco’s favorite activity is hunting squirrels (and eating them, but he always leaves the tail). He also enjoys ringing the dinner bell, sprinting up trees, sleeping on Judy’s head, and eating butter straight from the butter dish. Watch Bosco bravely defend his favorite WFMU tee. WFMU’s 2017 Record Fair – filling up!

The 2017 WFMU Record Fair is only a couple months away and we are looking to make it the biggest one yet! The fair will be returning to the Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint, Brooklyn: April 28th, 29th & 30th. If you’re interested in becoming a dealer, contact Record Fair Director Matt Warwick here. Tables are going fast so don’t wait!

Donate your appreciated stocks and securities to WFMU!

WFMU accepts appreciated stocks and securities as tax-deductible donations! Take the full appreciated value of your stocks or securities as a tax deduction, and also avoid capital gains taxes at the same time for a double benefit. For more information contact Station Manager Ken.

Reduce your 2016 tax burden

Want to lighten your tax burden or rack up some extra karma points before the end of 2016? Consider making a year-end donation to WFMU! All donations to WFMU are tax-deductible, and may be redeemed for extra credit at the end of the semester.
