Suzanne Ciani interview – Tues Sept 27th

Be sure to catch Devon’s interview with synth pioneer, composer, sound designer, and classically-trained pianist Suzanne Ciani this Tuesday, Sept 27th (7-8pm) on Morricone Island. Ciani is not only the first female composer to score a major Hollywood film (Joel Schumacher’s 1981 “The Incredible Shrinking Woman”), but even more well known for her sound design for films such as “The Stepford Wives” (1975) and “Fame” (1980), and commercial work for the likes of Atari, PBS and Coca Cola (e.g., the famous “Pop and Pour” sound logo), not to mention providing the analog synths for Meco’s disco version of the “Star Wars” soundtrack.

The Free Music Archive’s 2016 Fundraiser is under way! With more than 3.5 million visitors per month, FMA’s bandwidth costs are pretty steep, and they’re losing a funding partnership later this year. Until October 15th, the FMA is taking contributions and offering limited-edition stickers and shirts designed by New Jersey’s own Greg Harrison. Help them reach their goal by donating here!
