  1:26pm Zombiehamster:

Also joining from Ireland. Have had WFMU on ALL DAY! ^_^
  1:27pm other david:

@Zombiehamster - careful, once WFMU gets you in its clutches, it will not let go!
  1:32pm Zombiehamster:

@Other David I am a relitavely new listener. Only started a few months back. Now I am happy to live here. >_0 I haven't been this excited about music I've heard on the radio in years.
  1:34pm Listener Jumpy from Brooklyn:

Let's hear it for the Xmas novelty songs!
  1:35pm other david:

@zombie - truth! This place is unique and brilliant, tuning in for the first time was a revelation, I never knew radio could be so good :)
  1:40pm Zombiehamster:

@O-David I'm a huge fan of oldies, blues, surf, soul and all sorts of oddities, so it really is perfect. Can get everything from grindcore to psych as well. Looking forward to the inteviews later in the show. There was a great show on Jake Jacobson earlier today. Highly recommend it!
  1:40pm Tom:

Welcome to the club!
  1:44pm ChooChoo:

For me, it is "DJs with a Point of View," DJs saying, "Hey, listen to this!" On commercial radio you get the same damn song played four times a day for eight months straight.
  1:47pm fred:

@Zombiehamster: Welcome! Warning: this station may change your life. Only for the better, once you've had this (guaranteed) painful mind adjustment.
  1:48pm Zombiehamster:

Thanks very much @Tom . @ChooChoo Variety? Personal choice? Passion? Enthusiasm? These are things that have sadly been absent from mainstream radio for a long, long time. It's a delight to hear them again, especially in such a variety of forms.
  1:50pm fred:

@Zombiehamster: OK then, that adjustment will not be painful for you, more like a relief. Why did I welcome you? You're already one of us
  1:52pm other david:

@fred when do we tell him about the initiation ceremony?
  1:54pm ChooChoo:

@other david: we have to pick out the music first.
  1:55pm fred:

@other david: point is that we don't. Do you remember yours? I certainly don't remember mine, so why should me remember what he's bound to forget? Boore rules!
  1:55pm other david:

good points all very well made

*boogies*
  1:56pm fred:

I meant "booze". Am I that drunk already?
  1:56pm ChooChoo:

Actually the "Drink Mixing Show" may be a perfect time for initiation and renewing our vows.
  1:58pm Zombiehamster:

@fred @o-david Hey you guys, This Kool-Aid tastes funny.......
  1:59pm Zombiehamster:

Also: I keep recognising samples between songs, somthing that will no doubt having me wracking my brains into the wee small hours.
  1:59pm fred:

@ChooChoo: I'm all too willing to renew those vows, bring it on!
  2:11pm Ben Drinken:

if we score tickets to the Christmas Eve show do we need a special protective suit or an oxygen tank and mask or something. Because I have never been miles below the earth's surface and I don't know what you need.
  2:25pm ChooChoo:

RE: Miss Shuga Pie: How can we get her music? Norton Records? Other?
  2:29pm Rex:

Get yourself a copy of Sugar Pie DeSanto's "Go Go Power" CD on Kent. It's got all her Chess 45s...essential!!
  2:34pm Mark Dillman:

It is really nice to hear a great recording artist from the Chess record label. They are so few left. Chess was the greatest label ever.
  2:38pm Mark Dillman:

Given the news reports since yesterday about Etta James' health I think it is timely to have Sugar Pie on today's program.
  2:49pm ChooChoo:

"Make the show for Shuga Pie!"
  2:50pm monica:

just got a sugar pie high. what a pistol.
  2:51pm Adam:

Yeah, the Kent disc is killer. Required listening for fans of 60s R&B
  2:56pm Ben Drinken:

oh, I thought Rex was talking about giving out tickets to his Christmas Eve party. But boy the Sugar Pie show sounds awesome. what a wonderful woman. so cool.
  2:56pm James in ATL:

Terrific interview Rex!
  3:00pm ChooChoo:

  3:01pm Listener Jumpy from Brooklyn:
