This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

Lifetime obviously owes a lot of its adventurism and sound to Miles - it follows straight from Tony & John's experience on Silent Way. But also Soft Machine I think had a big influence, and on this specific LP, TW is quoted as saying it's his MC5 record

for reference, this is a total rip of Georghe Zamfir's main theme to Peter Weir's Picnic at Hanging Rock (which is set in Australia, fwiw)

it is, oddly enough, a synthesis of all the disparate threads of the LP. packed into a tight 9 minutes
Avatar 9:40pm
Flash Strap:

but it is not particularly good library music, in terms of it being application music. i mean imagining i'm a documentarian, i think i'd find this track insists on itself too much for my mosquito scene
Avatar 9:40pm
still b/p:

Alligator head partly surfacing, cocked to the side and one eye rhythmically doing whatever the alligator equivalent of eyebrow raising is in time to the music.
