Tony. The Beatles cut a few singles backing him up while in Hamburg. Probably a good thing it was temporary. The record companies reissued their single or two during the later Beatlemania, to cash in. I recall a single with "When The Saints Go Marching In." The flip was "My Bonnie" which I recall Lennon actually sang. Another Tony song was "Nobody's Child."

Extra fun fact: My third year German teacher filed a complaint that I wasn't showing up the year after I officially dropped out of her class. I was summoned to Admin, said I wasn't even taking that class, they checked and let me out (still got a demerit for skipping a class I hadn't signed up for)

Had a German teacher at Hunter, CUNY early80s evening classes[he was US born].. He started each class playing the guitar and teaching us a new song each time !!!! He was a young man but passed away mid semester ..
the replacement was also a lovely German person .. but no guitar and no songs ... but a creative teacher ..

I guess I got lucky: not having learned German barred me from my preferred path (English literature), so I switched to accounting then fled to coding.
A few more weird bounces and people no longer laugh when I say my fave coding handbook is the Tractatus (they know about it, so they do look warily)

I learned a lot of German at the Goethe Institut, evenings, about a dozen years ago. Like the language. Hated the class...becauxse it seemed, surprisingly, very much about (social) class. All these aggressive, condescending individuals going into European banking. Being a working person with a good mind just isn't enough in some places...plus after days in the animation studio left me with a very low bullshit threshold...actually walked out at one point....of both actually, ha ha. I don't think I'm what Germany wants. Definitely not what animation wants. Ich mochte eine andere Welt, bitte.
