| Outrageous CherryThis quartet from Detroit, Michigan, took WFMU listeners on a reverb-drenched trip to the sunnier side of dark alternative pop on July 18 (recorded July 15). The session, recorded the morning before a rare East Coast appearance by the band led by Matthew Smith on guitar, lead vocals. Smith is at the nerve center of the Detroit scene, having produced records by bands such as The Go and playing lead guitar in the Volebeats among other activities. The band's fourth album, Out There in the Dark, was released in 1999 on the legendary Del-Fi label. |
