Brought it in and the logo was in fact on the inside...

	4:18pm Handy Haversack: I have a copy of I think the Journal of Contemporary Fiction's special issue devoted to Romanian writers. Apparently, under the Ceausescues, dissident writers or those suspected of it would be called into a govt. bldg. for a meeting with a specific colonel. They would be asked to wait in an antechamber and would end up waiting for hours. Finally, they'd be told the colonel could not see them. But the trick is the bench they waited on was sitting on some radioactive material, strontium-90 as I recall, but I'm not positive. So if it six months the writer was still alive, they'd be called in for another appointment ... I think it was Elena Ceausescu who oversaw this particular cultural act.

Older landed families that were kicked out, those who did well during the Ceausescu year, those that did well after, those that did well in none of the above, and then of course the Roma. Complicated. There are many Romanian people in France, for some reason French was encouraged in schools

	4:18pm Handy Haversack: I have a copy of I think the Journal of Contemporary Fiction's special issue devoted to Romanian writers. Apparently, under the Ceausescues, dissident writers or those suspected of it would be called into a govt. bldg. for a meeting with a specific colonel. They would be asked to wait in an antechamber and would end up waiting for hours. Finally, they'd be told the colonel could not see them. But the trick is the bench they waited on was sitting on some radioactive material, strontium-90 as I recall, but I'm not positive. So if it six months the writer was still alive, they'd be called in for another appointment ... I think it was Elena Ceausescu who oversaw this particular cultural act.

Older landed families that were kicked out, those who did well during the Ceausescu year, those that did well after, those that did well in none of the above, and then of course the Roma. Complicated. There are many Romanian people in France, for some reason French was encouraged in schools
