@TDK 80s-90s era online communities. You pay monthly, sono ads. The Well was started by the same group that did the Coevolution Quarterly/ Whole Earth Review. ECHO was more of an NYC response to it.

echonyc.com or echo.net or mosaic.echonyc.com - mosaic was an early browser. But ECHO itself is 100% command line still. I was the gopher master too and was the first place WFMU has an internet presence. The rest is history™.

When I worked in a public library, early '90s, we taught folks how to use gopher, WAIS, FTP...

Peter and I bonded early over our love this first album by BS&T. There was a re-creation of the whole album with most of the original players at The Bottom Line, and when Peter suggested we go I was totally into it. Al even had a string quartet involved. It was a great show, BTW.

There are countless countless other songs that could prompt this appreciative thought, but...
If there hadn't been options beyond Top 40, hadn't been stations that would play it occasionally through the 70s, I'd never have become familiar with I Love You More... And that would be a shame, a loss.
BS&T memory: I bought my older brother the 45 of And When I Die one Christmas when it had been recently popular, and was very discouraged when he wasn't enthusiastic in receiving it.
