Hi Andrew...and Orange Peel if he's there. Happy Birthday Micky...one of the greatest Rock singers ever.
Avatar 5:08pm
cometothesunshine:

Orange Peel claims he lost his log-in and can't chat. He is always bragging about identity theft.
Avatar 5:09pm
cometothesunshine:

Ever since John Peel stole his name, he plays the victim game. And then last fundraiser he was ashamed he didn't raise money.
  5:09pm
MOM WHIG:

Hey Uptown Jen, Woof, jfmlaugh, sw2442

That live mix sounds different to me...
Avatar 5:17pm
cometothesunshine:

It is the same as the album. Everything on RockNSoul has added reverb and limiting
  5:19pm
dangie:

Andrew your press junket for the book has produced one wonderful audio gem after another! Here's hoping reservations have surpassed your original estimations!

uptown jen:

Hi, MOM WHIG!
Avatar 5:25pm
cometothesunshine:

It was a thrill to play with Pete after decades of watching him.
Avatar 5:25pm
cometothesunshine:

Also, Bobby Hart on organ. His advice on my production was: "Don't go too Nesmith."
  5:26pm
dangie:

I bet, Andrew!!! The entire group on that track is top shelf!

LOL!!!! Don't go too Nez!!
  5:27pm
jfmlaugh:

That is outstanding! What a thrill to play with Bobby Hart too!
  5:28pm
jfmlaugh:

Andrew!!! Rough Mix! I Love this!! One of my favorite from the album!
Avatar 5:28pm

So Agree Dangie! So Thankful!
  5:33pm
Skylar:

sad that She can't really be mixed into stereo properly, at least the mono mix holds a TON of punch
  5:33pm
dangie:

Skylar: Big time!! It thumps!
  5:34pm
jfmlaugh:

I think Andrew played a version from Del Shannon on one of his shows...great version too!
Avatar 5:34pm
cometothesunshine:

Far from professional at times. Ol Orange Peel.
  5:35pm
Skylar:

Such a beautiful song, Sometime In The Morning. Speaking of stereo mixes, this one is like wiping dust off an old book :D
Avatar 5:36pm
cometothesunshine:

This one went well. They don't all work as well.
  5:37pm
jfmlaugh:

Terrifying is terrific! Should have made the album!
Avatar 5:39pm
cometothesunshine:

I agree!
  5:39pm
dangie:

In anticipation of the book, I've revisited the HQ Sessions this past week. The guys really put in the effort, but Mick REALLY was woodshedding on those skins. Crazy to think he was the only drummer on a number one LP with such limited rehearsal time. And then playing & singing lead on those live dates If I wore a fedora, I'd tip it at him!

Andrew: Did he really volunteer or did Raybert request that he play the drummer for the show ?
Avatar 5:40pm
cometothesunshine:

he volunteered I think. They only decided on instruments days before shooting the pilot began.
  5:40pm
dangie:

WOW....
Avatar 5:41pm
cometothesunshine:

I got a lot of early history and pre-history sorted out in the new book.
  5:42pm
Skylar:

Imagine if Peter was the one who went to the drums instead!
  5:42pm
dangie:

It's going to be amazing, that photo you discussed about the day they plugged in for the very first time!
Avatar 5:43pm
sw2442:

My favorite song on Head...I'm still amazed that this song has Neil Young, Carole King, Danny Kortchmar, and Ryan Cooder all playing guitar...
Avatar 5:43pm
cometothesunshine:

Peter was a good bass player, so I think that is how it got called. Michael was just a guitar player, with a little bit of keyboard experience.
  5:43pm
dangie:

Skylar: Thought would've been a trip!
Avatar 5:44pm
sw2442:

Ry I meant...dumb auto correct...
Avatar 5:44pm
cometothesunshine:

I only found out this year the bass player on Mommy & Daddy is Peter.
  5:44pm
dangie:

WHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5:44pm
Skylar:

interesting! i thought he was on guitar all this time
Avatar 5:45pm
sw2442:

Wow...I always though Peter was a good bassist...
  5:45pm
jfmlaugh:

The Photo, more Sessions info that you found, the lawsuits, 70 minutes more of Shorty Blackwell...1969 Micky solo dates!

Peter is playing bass on Mommy & Daddy!!!!!!!
  5:46pm
dangie:

jfmlaugh: LOL... I feel the same way, it's going to be a glorious sensory overload of info & visuals!!
  5:47pm
dangie:

I NEVER tire of the HQ version of "RSG"
  5:47pm
Skylar:

Randy Scouse Git is my go-to track when it comes to introducing people unfamiliar with The Monkees to their music. They always love it!

How did poor Mickey get caught up in the celluloid piece of garbage called “ Night Strangler”? I saw a version on TCM where picture and sound were out of sync adding insult to injury
