Hey Michael! Great show as always. You said Scruggs was a traditionalist and Flatt wanted to do covers, but I think it was the other way around. Scruggs was always pushing the envelope, and really continued to try new things and collaborate with younger artists with the post-Flatt group the Earl Scruggs Revue.

The masses don't see past it being the same place on the dial it ever was - but it's the frog boiling slowly enuff in water getting hotter to stay there... More & More owned by Fewer & Fewer. Original FM revolution was these clear local station passing commercially from Classical formats to Rawk Freaks - who had pretty Free (Form) reign... Has been said there *are no* 'local' stations anymore...

@clarke, there have been some postponed games so far due to the COVID protocols. I know that the Devils were hit particularly hard along with Dallas, but that was relatively early on. But right now Vancouver is being decimated; something like 21 players and 6 members of the staff. And it's so late in the season, that the all-Canadian Division might not play the full 56 game schedule.

Not familiar with St. Augustine radio so much but drive through North and Central Florida all winters until this one -- mostly corporate FM (including classic rock), far right talk radio, and a lot of Christian radio. In say Tallahassee you can find a few good stations -- otherwise I search for classical or freaky 10 mile radius AM stations.

Another mid range bummer is that these cliche bands biggest events are now the death of a band member. Currently the best thing for a rock stars career is for the rock star to die. Sales increase over 1000% percent, 6000% for Ed Van Halen. Jim Hendrix makes more money than the previous year every year and they guy hasn't played a show or made a record in over 50 years.

Sounds great, Corey. I might fly out for a long weekend to Muskegon next month so I can see my aunt since we'll all be fully vaxxed. Hopefully will get up to Oceana Co. I was all excited to look for a ticket last week, and then several things collapsed at once here. Hoping to get some of them somewhat resolved soonish ... sigh.

"Pennsyltucky" has been kicking around since at least the early 90s fwiw... and Philly is pretty amazing. Central PA is beautiful. Pittsbugh is dirtier than Philly, but they've been washing the buildings now for a few decades, so it's better, but no less redneck, despite Google/Cheney types.

Hey, Kevin! She is surely working on it. The rules for the outdoor shows in the city are ... completely deranged. If we are reading them right, then 15' from the source of music, the sound can't be one pindrop louder than normal ambient sound at that location? It's really messed up. But she's been in touch with several venues as they look to start thinking of coming back -- and has a gig a little ways upstate outdoors in August, which is something to look forward to, at least!

Pennsyltucky ain’t so bad. Cigs are cheaper (lower sin taxes) and Pittsburgh’s a great arts, deli and record store town. Maybe I’m a little rosy today what with sunshine, a few hours of gardening ahead and my 2nd vax 12 days ago. Dating and going out seem less abstract concepts now.
