Gary, CC, Doc! Thanks for finding your ways back to the abandoned stable!
Avatar 10:06pm

glad to be here. I feel like an abandoned horse stable would be a good place to sit around and drink beer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm
Sam Segal:

@CC: Doing well! Feel like I'm still trying to catch my breath a bit after traveling out of state for the first time since the pandemic. Think I need a beer!

Thanks for hearing here, WR!

@Doc, I think I have to credit Doug for turning me onto this record on one of his shows.
Avatar 10:11pm
Constantly Choking:

hope it was a good time, Minneapolis/St. Paul sound like relaxing places
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm
Sam Segal:

It was relaxing and low-key. Highlight was seeing an outdoor Patti Smith show. First time seeing her live. She was killer.

Well, this track is sublime

I've got to find a Croatian who can tell me how to pronounce Jugoton is what I've gotta do. Thank you for your assistance, Doc and Gary!

Pie:

Hey - listening from an undisclosed pie tin in a far off stable closet.

John Wayne couldn’t even find me if he were a speech pathologist/business degree holder.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm
Sam Segal:

Pie! You've got a bit of business background. Got anything to say on the matter of vertical integration?
Avatar 10:32pm
Constantly Choking:

I'm pro the sludgy skronk rock, for what it's worth
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm
Sam Segal:

Thank you for your validation, CC. I should never have even questioned everyone's appetite for sludgy skronk!

Gary via app:

[raises hand] I feel like you have tricked us into hearing a LOT of hard rock?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm
Sam Segal:

I feel like it I slip the hard rock in sparingly, but I suppose it does start to pile up over the years!
Avatar 10:44pm

I feel like the part of me that enjoys a big dumb riff repeated ad nauseum will never die

Sam Segal:

I have a similar Led Zeppelin-induced complex, CC.
Avatar 10:49pm
Constantly Choking:

I still haven't found the Led Zeppelin album that works on me, but I want to
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm
Sam Segal:

The Zeppelin record I gravitate toward most as an adult is Presence.
  10:52pm
Pie Chris Farrell:

I think you summed the idea up pretty nicely - I was reading Very Fine People during that part but my ears did perk up when I heard the term.

I don’t want to beat a dead horse lol. I knew the general idea but had to Google it to remember the whole idea with value chains and stuff like Toyota buying Subaru is horizontal integration but Google making computers is vertical integration. Business is riddled with peripheral ideas and strategies like that - they become almost mocking in a lot of ways.. Like I’m sure within Vertical Integration you’ll find a whole financial labrynth of things that sound a certain way but end up seeming like a giant effing circle.. and somehow reinvent the idea in the process - like a panacea of ingenuity

Nice tunes tonight Bodega and Lose your Horse!

The essence of comedy is being scarred and dead but saddling in anyways (my original opener before I went all John Wayne)
Avatar 10:58pm
Constantly Choking:

@Sam okay interesting...rated 7th on Rateyourmusic haha, but maybe that's the Zeppelin record for me, the top 5 on RYM haven't connected...I'll give it a listen
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm

@CC: Let me know what you think! It's got some great longer tunes that really connect for me.

I always think I'm hearing a harmonica at first, then hear that it's a keyboard playing.

Hey Sam, I'm a melodica player - they're cheap , they're kind of expressive. You can't bend the notes as easily as on a harmonica, but they can play chords! check out melodicaworld.com
