Mike @12.38 i was vegetarian ("vegan") for 7 years in my 20s, after being "vegetarian" starting at age 16; then started working fish into my diet occasionally for health reasons. it made an enormous difference, even though it was only maybe 1/2 dozen X/year.

(i did start eating eggs again and occasional dairy, but at home i eat mostly "vegan")

This week's savoury Oatmeal.....miso, tamari , ginger, and chili/garlic, with (raw) red peppers, purple cabbage, radishes, green onions and slightly steamed spinach...plus peanut butter (am out of peanuts)

@matt-- was also going to try to go to rockaway. but thought the ferries might be very crowded this weekend. I might try next weekend if weather is ok. Love the arepa out there. (Also the Rockaway Surf club bar/Tacoway place has great vegan tacos --but it is not right on the boardwalk)
