His prerequisite for taking me as a student was I was obliged to join the Ocean County Choir's (which he directed) annual Gilbert & Sullivan production. That year it was Iolanthe. it was an amazing experience...and made me love G&S forever.

She joined with her sister and loved it (not sure how things are presently working with latest COVID slog). Most of the fellow members are elderly but not exclusively--she says it's enriching singing with people of all ages. The repertoire is composed of mostly religious and classical works, but they also work on 20th Century pop stuff. In any event, a collegiate choir open to non-students may be the ticket.

	3:45pm karlward: I used to regularly attend the Sarum Compline free Sunday evening concerts at St. Paul's Chapel on the Columbia campus. I am not religious at all, but I loved listening to those plainsong pieces.
	3:45pm Handy Haversack: PRB and Sheila, K8 did that with the Queens College choir when she first moved to NYC and was really missing performance and collaboration. It was pretty exclusively religious music, though, as I recall. Handel? But, yes, Sheila, such things are here in NYC.

She joined with her sister and loved it (not sure how things are presently working with latest COVID slog). Most of the fellow members are elderly but not exclusively--she says it's enriching singing with people of all ages. The repertoire is composed of mostly religious and classical works, but they also work on 20th Century pop stuff. In any event, a collegiate choir open to non-students may be the ticket.
