Thank you Chris! Deeply appreciative of your regular hosting on the drummer stream! Every episode with you is a major addition to my joy and awareness of wonderful music in the world.

Mx. Baba Bee! So glad to see you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am
WR:

Hi Mx baba Bee. My family chief pecan pie make is featured in my holiday avatar pic. We demanded it every holiday and for my birthday I asked for pecan pie instead of cake.

My daughter brought over pecan pie as well, we'll toast after the show!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:19am
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

WR: YES. very wise. blessed be the pecan pie makers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am
Doug Schulkind:

Watching my daughter bake fills me with such joy. It connotes a kind of self-sufficiency that leaves me with the feeling that, no matter what, everything's going to be okay.

Hola Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am

Our daughter brought the most delicious homemade cranberry sauce and accidentally left it all behind. Dang.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am
Doug Schulkind:

Everything's okay, now that you're here, Rich in Washington!

Pecan pie was my mothers favorite.
Hi Mx. Baba Beekins and WR and doc and pecan pie lovers and haters!

This year's turkey yielded the most ridiculous quantity of gravy. I suspect it'll outlast the leftover turkey by quite a margin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am
Rich in Washington:

I've been listening since close to the beginning but in a tryptophan and late night radio-induced near coma but unable to sit upright at a keyboard til now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am
Doug Schulkind:

Ridiculous Quantity of Gravy was the name of my first band in high school. Our music was more conceptual/installation than actual "songs."
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:26am
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

crestikins! I have no pecan pie or any other pie around here. A friend said she was going to bring some pie my way today, so maybe I'll join the pie party!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am
chresti:

Franco made a pie but everyone was talking so much, it got late and we left without tasting it!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:29am
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

I do, however, have a bowl of mush with my proprietary blend of spices (heavy on the cardamom and nutmeg, light on the cinnamon and clove) and freshly minced ginger—with fresh blueberries as a special guest. I am content.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am
chresti:

Mmmmmmush!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:30am
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

chrestikins: what kind of pie? I wouldn't have neglected it!!!

I make really good mush.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am

He made an apple pie.

When a baby child becomes a DJ, can Hinky Dinky Time be far behind?!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:40am
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

One thing for sure, Hinky Dinky Time is always something! Sometimes something else! I'll be there!

Andres:

H, Doug! Sounding great this morning. Thanks, Chris, for the guest set! It was a regular old Thursday here up north yesterday. But lots of great radio and lots of football on my screen. I will share a local battle cry heard here around the holidays: Stay out of the mall!
  11:41am
Mr C:

This set is pure garage soul...just the remarkbles!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am

But how you pronounce "pecan" affects the flavor, does it not?
Avatar 🥁 11:43am
PAULS:

it does not
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am
chresti:

Those precious words, suddenly came to mind from the back up singing on When I Get Home.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am
Doug Schulkind:

@βrian
I have a whole embarrassing story about that. Too long for a comment here. Suffice it to say, I have always been a PEE-can person, and I've lived in shame. Have desperately wanted to be a puh-CON person.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am
sinner:

Sang it.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:46am
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

at the pie place in SF we just sidestep the pronounciation with a walnut pie

Pecan Shibboleth was your first band, wasn't it, Doug?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am
Doug Schulkind:

@βrian
They kicked me out after the second audition. Said I wasn't "serious about my time-keeping responsibilities."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am
chresti:

I say pee-CON
Avatar 11:49am
βrian:

Harsh words for a drummer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am
Doug Schulkind:

I have had to cut this Charles Warren track from the last three shows because I yapped too much and left too little room. Mr. Warren, at long last, the floor is yours.
  11:50am
Andres:

Drummer is traditionally the most serious of the bunch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am

if I say "pecan" by itself I say "pee-CAN" and if I say "pecan pie" I say "Puh-CON." Just noticed that.
