Hey, Paul! Thanks. I'll quote myself from the last Joe's show:

"Well, we think he's recovered, but we're nervous he has pica or some pica behaviors. So we're nervous and worried and trying to be vigilant all the time about anything he might get ahold of ... but clutter is our natural environment, so it's hard. But we think he's recovered from the trials of last week, at least."

Hey Joe and crew! I was just looking at pictures from the YLT Hanukkah show where Dream Syndicate showed up. There was this one photo of 2 masked men with 45s in the DJ booth. There was something familiar about these two. One looked like Alfred E Neuman and the other was handsome and debonnair. I wonder who these fellows were? Hmmm....

@karlward - I remember thinking after reading Jesse Jarnow's YLT book that it might have been a little challenging to write about a band that had well-adjusted band members, well-regarded, a steady career trajectory and no tragedies other than the out of control beer vat at Maxwells. - hahaha.

Still a little anxious about indoor shows, and I find wearing a mask at a show a little alienating. I'm betting I would have overcome it once the music hit my nervous system, but for now...but I did just get my booster on Friday.

Well there was that time that Yo La Tengo spent billions of taxpayer dollars building rockets, and then only used them to bring Sun Ra back and forth between Earth and Saturn. I was surprised the book didn't cover that.

There are those two great songs from the Nate K Killed By Mardi Gras New Orleans punk comp: "Three Chord City" and then the answer song "1 Cord City." I was disappointed that the song "Three Chord City" had more than three chords. I was pleased that "1 Cord City" had only one chord and also that it wasn't really about chords at all.

@Handy - hahahaha! I've seen that fountain many a time. Never saw Left Banke though. I have a foggy memory of going to see/hear the fountain with a U2 soundtrack while in high school sometime in the late 80s.

There was a fantastic band from Grand Haven in the early/mid 80s called Jim Jones and the Kool-Aid Kids. Their lone LP is quite sought out in heavy music circles.

I loved "Get Crazy" when I saw it 37 years ago. Lou Reed's first appearance in the film is a recreation of the cover photo of Dylan's "Bringing It All Back Home".
The soundtrack album has some tracks that I can't find elsewhere, like the Ramones' "Chop Suey". During the film's closing credits, Lou performs "Little Sister", a song he wrote for Nico's first album.
