@Victor I was a serious bicyclist back in the 1970s and again in late 80s. This was before cell phones and texting...
Thought it would be better on a motorcycle, which it was compared to sitting in a pickup.
Then my last fun thing was a Vespa. It made me feel great getting errands done on fairly little gas, and glorious in good weather the way a bicycle is.
I am a good and considerate driver, but too many brushes with the other kind put me back in the pickup for now.

I'm looking to buy a deck of eno's oblique cards for a christmas gift. First heard about them on this show! Anyone have a lead on finding it for sale in nyc?

@Marie - Over thanksgiving I was at the Pacific ocean at the base of the Olympic peninsula. We took a night walk on the beach. It was totally dark and sensory disorienting. It was pretty great.

They're amazing, Will. Hoping every day to keep them healthy, but right now all is well. They are so great to have around.

I mean, the toe biting is *less* great. But, you know, whole package and all.

ooh good idea Persimmon! i'm not really sure where you can buy it IRL
another card game item I have been thinking about getting is that esther perel game that helps you ask more intimate questions with friends / family. It sounds kinda cheesy but also nice, cuz relating to other people after covid isolation can be hard sometimes

Hey Olivia, been listening and working, enjoying the show!

Will, right now Goblin is sleeping on the shelf over the radiator and dreaming. His tail and paws are moving in his sleep -- like a dog's. Never seen that before in cats, but both of them do it.

Marie:

@Tim--that sounds fantastic! It reminds of a time I took a trip to Alaska with my brothers and a friend and we camped out by the shore and walked along it at night and during the day. I would like to do that again, and maybe I'll go to the ocean as the sun sets so I can experience both

I can see stars from my apartment at night but not a lot of them (I'm in Queens, on the top floor)

@olivia: Sorta related - I had a hard time relating to _physical objects_ after covid isolation. I went into a grocery store for the first time in over two years to get my booster and man....so much STUFF in there! For whatever reason, it sort of unnerved me.

Marie:

@Handy--maybe they're dreaming of you and K8 @)

@Marie - Oh man! That sounds awesome. I've only been to Alaska once. I love it there. We were staying a few blocks from the water in Anchorage in March. We took a walk at dusk along a pathway. The frozen mud flats were incomprehensible.
