It is possible to introduce cats and dogs. The trick is giving cats a high perch to take a "time out" and doing the whole thing gradually with supervision. But the family has to be willing to commit to doing it. Thanks all of you who like Betty!!! Paws crossed for her!

I got an animal problem here with a type of animal: mice! After 2 years they started using the lazy susan in the cabinet as a toilet again, and are no longer repelled by the Mouse Magic mint sachet I put two fresh ones of. It's like, oh, nice clean toilet, remind us to tip the attendant.

@Kitty.omalley. Any tips to get the stray to use the cat shelter I built? It's fully insulated with a cat door installed on a rubbermaid storage container. I've put some food & treats in there, left the door full open & closed (swinging door) but it has no interest in entering. In the meantime I'm leaving the two sheds doors I have on the property ajar just in case she decides to enter.
  8:52am
Listener Robert:

Thanks, TDK60. I'd thought about putting down soe of my friend's used cat litter, but figured that cure would be worse than the disease. And I do mean disease, I suspect I got a gastroenteritis a week ago from mouse duties.

@Robert the real trick is to seal up wherever they are getting in. That's tough as they need very little space to do that. I had a big problem years ago and I methodically plugged every opening under the house (crawl space) I could find. I haven't had any mice in my home since about 2009 and I live in the woods in PA. Persistence. I used foam spray insulation for sealing around pipes & electrical conduits & pink foam insulation sheets (not batting, they use that to nest). Good luck.

Thanks again, TDK. My only successes back in the Bronx had been with glue traps, plus the assistance of stuffed Wolfie in channeling the smarter ones onto the glue. I did the execution in the alley with a mallet, "blindfolding" the mice with a paper towel.
