	👻 6:19pm Austin Rich: I have a standing desk in my office, but I had to move it, so for the longest time, I couldn't "elevate" the desk, only use it in the lowered position. The other day, I cleaned my office, and cleared enough space around the desk to use it in the standing position. Between that, and my standing table that has by DJ gear on it, I can ACTUALLY do my show standing up, if I want to. I'm thinking about getting the exercise bike in here, so I can do that when I'm listening to Sheenas.

	👻 6:21pm Austin Rich: I did a NANOWRIMO novel one year, where in the middle of the book, the detective gets knocked out, and his partner has to take up the case, because the lead was hospitalized for a couple days. I knew that bit before I started working on anything else.

Also: It's super eerie that it's Dante folios, because literally during this podcast, I've been Tweeting with a friend who's listening to a new song by Jamie Campbell Bower, which I literally during this podcast informed her was based on Dante's Inferno and Purgatorio!
	👻 6:25pm Austin Rich: It's interesting, the source recording for this broadcast has an eerie ghost sound of some other recording in the background. Most likely, the person who was copying these from the original discs was using a tape for the transfer process, that was re-used a number of times.

(All the accents are by Americans, usually.) I'm not sure what this actor was going for but it doesn't really sound Chinese at all. I think the actor was just guessing.

	👻 7:08pm Austin Rich: MHLee: I heard about that! I'm listening to a podcast where the hosts are listening to Voyager, and they talk about that quite a bit. It's astonishing that it happened that recently, but then again... TV is full of very real, strange stories.

	7:12pm Krys O: The intro reminded me of Kirk Douglas in Letter to Three Wives lamented that his wife, Ann Sothern wrote drivel for commercial radio.

	👻 7:16pm Austin Rich: Yeah, the Korla Pandit music is really charming.
	👻 7:17pm Austin Rich: So, Korla does backing music during the commercials for Chandu, too, which I cut out of the show when I present it for these presentations. I think I'll do a show where I play all those commercials that I cut out, just for the Korla music.
	👻 7:20pm Austin Rich: This episode gives you the character dynamics pretty quickly, establishes the power Chandu has, and then offers a nice information dump, so you can get a sense of what's happened, and where they are going.
	👻 7:21pm Austin Rich: The good thing about Chandu is that each episode more or less recaps most everything from the previous episodes, so you can sort of pick up what's happening pretty quickly.
	7:22pm Mr Fab: this is more like a Mexican accent! "Si, senorrrr!"

	👻 7:24pm Austin Rich: I suspect, since Chandu was daily, that they couldn't always get the same voice actors from show to show. I bet, occasionally, the secondary actors were less familiar with the source material, or the ethnicities that the characters are supposed to be.

	👻 7:29pm Austin Rich: This was on a Sunday Night, the weekend of Thanksgiving. For a lot of people, this was the last thing they heard before bed. I can only imagine what work was like on Monday, after.
	👻 7:34pm Austin Rich: I liked this idea so much, I wrote my own weird sci-fi "Creation" story in college. It wasn't very good, but it was very inspired by this story.
	👻 7:45pm Austin Rich: In the MST3K movie, Crow tires to "dig" his way out of the Satellite of Love. I always thought that was a reference to this story.
	👻 7:49pm Austin Rich: I like this Heinlein twist on the "generation" ship trope, which was already played out by this point. This version of it sort of re-vitalizes the idea in a way that I think really works well.
