"Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young"
Faron Young

I wanna live fast, love hard, die young
And leave a beautiful memory
I wanna live fast, love hard, die young
And leave a beautiful memory

Don't want slow walkin' or sad singin'
Let 'em have a jubilee
I wanna leave a lot of happy women
A thinking pretty thoughts of me
I wanna live fast, love hard, die young
And leave a beautiful memory

I got a hot-rod car and a cowboy suit
And I really do get around
I got a little black book and the gals look cute
And I know the name of every spot in town

I wanna find 'em, fool 'em, leave 'em
And let 'em do the same to me
I wanna live fast, love hard, die young
And leave a beautiful memory

My heart is sad, and I am lonely
For the only one I love

So he will know where I am sleeping
And perhaps he'll weep for me

there's a song by Funkadelic called March to the Witch's Castle which is so haunting and beautiful, i've always found it impossible to fit into a playlist.

Oh my. Was driving around and lo and behold, there was Milton Brunson and the Tommys. Holy Ghost Power! Gospel is America's great overlooked genre. As Vic Broughton wrote, "For an outsider coming upon the dramatic fervor of gospel unprepared, the disturbance can be utterly overwhelming. Repellent even. 'There's something about the gospel blues,' said Sister Rosetta Tharpe to author Tony Heilbut, 'that's so deep the world can't stand it.'”

Sorry for the wait hyper. Just got off the bus. Okay. Across the street is the Salem plaza, I didn't see any such store there. I'm thinking that the pandemic has probably nocked it out of business a few years back. And as for the back door of the Showplace I couldn't say because I hadn't been back there to see. So it's possible that sign could still be there. All I know is that the big fluorescent sign is gone.

When Ms. Zip got ALS, we went through our thousands of albums and CDs one by one. Every time she liked an album, she's ding like Hector Salamanca and I'd set it aside. Then we went through those albums and she'd ding when I named a song she liked. We ended up with a 2-CD compilation. She had quite a sense of humor -- closing track was "Dowm in the Ground Where the Dead Men Go" by the Pogues. A lot of those tracks we discovered through Monica and Doug.

Back at home in my crappy but cozy little studio apartment cranking the AC. Was trying to catch up on the chat and see there's this concept of having one's ashes pressed into vinyl records if i got it right. I like that concept a lot. would mind having my ashes pressed into records by artists of my pick if i could. Just one question, do you think anyone buy records with the ashes of deceased people pressed into them? I mean would you? And don't forget, in time those records would probably get thrown away in the garbage which means you would wind up in a landfill. So if you didn't want that to happen would you still want your ashes pressed into vinyl records?
