Bern Elliott | Good Times | London | 1964/1965 | 45 | Formerly of Kent's Bern Elliott and the Fenmen, but his backing group on this record was the unfortunately named Klan — thankfully, not on this US release | 0:40:49 (Pop-up)
The Liverbirds | Why Do You Hang Around Me | Philips | 1965 | 45 | From Liverpool via Hamburg (the "Liver-" in the band's name is pronounced with a long "i" — as in "driver," not as in "river") | 0:43:18 (Pop-up)
The Hygrades | We're Through | Columbia UK | 1965 | 45 | Not to be mistaken for Nigeria's Hygrades, as this is a London group | 0:45:44 (Pop-up)

Listener comments!
Eric R:
Anyway, I was listening to the Hollies doing "That's My Desire" and I wondered off whom they copied the arrangement. I listened to the Buddy Holly version, the Flamingos, the Channels. None are just like the Hollies'. I'm especially wondering about the woh-woh-woh-woh bits at the end of each line. Or woo-woo-woo-woo... Anyone know who did that before the Hollies? ('cause I doubt they thought of it themselves)
