I’m really enjoying the Blondie Boxset.
Avatar 2:18pm
Jamie Jazz:

they did a box set?
Avatar 2:18pm
Mr Fab:

One of several times I've seen Blondie, it was just before New Years Eve and they did a kind of live mashup of singing "Auld Lang Syne" over the "Heart of Glass" music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm
MHLee:

Always liked this one
Avatar 2:19pm
Jamie Jazz:

There are so many great elements to this song. A true banger!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:20pm
medson:

@jamie yes it’s Against the Odds 1974-1982 lots it rarites and outtakes etc. Demo versions etc.
Avatar 2:21pm
Jamie Jazz:

Oh very cool.. i'll see if I can track it down.
Avatar 2:22pm
Mr Fab:

Spacebrother Greg played a bunch of stuff off the Blondie box on one his more recent episodes of "Stop Hitting Yourself." You can listen to the archive.
Avatar 2:23pm
Jamie Jazz:

ooo I will!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm
MHLee:

There's a go-gos tribute in wfmu's hot records right now
  2:23pm
Mr. Oxford:

The detail about mashup reminds me of a teen pop artist named Vitamin C. She did a cover version of The Strokes ""Last Nite" and mashed it up with certain melody and instrumentation parts of "Heart of Glass". I'm not a big fan of that cover but it's interesting how parts of different songs from different eras can be mashed up.

Jamie Jazz:

@MHLee - my band Pale Lips plays on it :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm
MHLee:

Nice, I got into my stations rotation
Avatar 2:28pm
Mr Fab:

Ha, was just checking out Hayley and the Crushers' bandcamp page last night! Downloaded a bunch.
Avatar 2:28pm
Jamie Jazz:

She has a new record out... just last week I think?
Avatar 2:33pm
Mr Fab:

Tacocat, the band with a palindrome for a name.
Avatar 2:34pm
Jamie Jazz:

I actually had never noticed that before
Avatar 2:37pm
Mr Fab:

Speaking of Spacebrother's show, bit of a schedule change here: "Dimestore Radio Theater" with Austin Rich has moved to a later time tonight, so "Stop Hitting Yourself" will follow Jaime in two hours, and then the stream rocks for another two hours after that. (And THEN Dimestore Radio Theater airs)

Sheer Mag is a great band to see live.
Avatar 2:41pm

I love everything about this band, I remember the first time I heard them, it was like a religious experience.

Speaking of live. I dodged Covid for over 2 years and got it at an Amyl show in May. 🥹

Mr. Oxford:

Mr. Fab, has Fuji Puzzle Box show ended for good? Is there any chance of the show's return in the future? Sorry if this is not the best place to ask this. I was just curious.
Avatar 2:44pm
Jamie Jazz:

Was it worth it though?
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
medson:

Yes
Avatar 2:44pm
Jamie Jazz:

I figured!
  2:48pm
Mr. Oxford:

This Royal Headache song is fantastic!
Avatar 2:48pm

Now there's a band I wish I had seen live.
Avatar 2:49pm
Mr Fab:

Mr. Oxford: ironybread has ended the show but he has a big epic project in store that will probably air in a series of specials.

AND after the Oct Hellraiser ends we will debut a show in Fuji Puzzle Box's old time slot, as well as another show after "Wired Up", both by DJs you may very well know. We're gonna have an action-packed Saturday line-up.

Thank you Mr. Fab. I appreciate your reply. Fuji Puzzle Box was my first favorite show here on WFMU and I'm excited ironybread has a project in store. Looking forward to an action-packed Saturday line-up then after Oct.!
