We're better (I hope). My younger daughter, the teacher, went back to work today (school requires 5 days isolation for COVID, then a mask). She was better past few days (no fever/chills), but still exhausted, sleeping most of the day, coughing. She also had her class for her Master's after she taught. Nervous, hoping she got through OK (haven't heard anything). Thanks for asking, Kim.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm
KimSorise:

Dang, DocJ - she has been going through it. I hope all went well today.

I'm always surprised by John Handy stuff you play (I don't give up first impressions easily-I'll always associate him with Hard Work, which I like, but is nothing like this...)

Ah yeah, I really should try some of those pseudo-coffees. I drink entirely too much cold brew which is a very 2010s trend.

A little, yes. I hear that - DocJ

This Surman is cool too (so much great jazz, end 60's, 70's. I started listening in the late 70's, mostly 80's (early on was catch up with early jazz), some folks think the 80's were the worst jazz decade, but I liked it (and didn't know much else yet). But missed much of this 70's stuff, mostly listening to hippie music, then punk/disco.

northguineahills:

If I'm not back, thanks Kim!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm
KimSorise:

I got this off a buddy here because I was digging for some cooler sounding British jazz - al la Mike Westbrook since I adore his LPs. This was a pleasant surprise but the flip - not so much.
I spent much of the 90s buying jazz & prog records when nearly all of my buddies we going on and on about Palace music/songs/etc... and look where I ended up. hahahha

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37pm

I think I got listening to all this stuff when jazz didn't have much commercial impact anymore. Everyone was trying to sell records with some version of smooth jazz.
