sort of, Mary. Warren is the only former Bad Seed he tours with, but they tour as Nick Cave and Warren Ellis now. when i saw them, they had an amazingly talented musician backing them up on percussion and other electronic programming. Nick joked that Warren is also trying to make Nick obsolete.

@βrian unfortunately I need something to mow that I can keep short. There was a lot of ground cover around the house when we bought it and it hid a lot of moles, voles, mice, and snakes, the latter two of which consistently worked their way into the house. I've also stepped on more snakes in the first three years at this house than the 20+ at my prior house that was adjacent to a cornfield, so we need to keep them away from where we walk for their own safety

@Mary they did not. I've seen this one crawl into the foundation in the front of the house, and I suspect he's done the same under the sunporch, as one of the dogs will stand there and stare at the baseboard. I think/hope the sill plate is keeping them out of the basement. Haven't seen any evidence in the house or cellar for a couple years, but you never know.

@RR63 There were so many that when we removed the english ivy, a number of our neighbors reported seeing the first snake(s) they've seen in years. We did a bit of looking at the sky and changing of the subject.

@michael. there was a brown water snake this year that apparently didn't see too well and would try to cozy up to anything that looked like a bunch of snakes. I had some cords from a bubbler on the dock and he curled up with those -- first one we ever had on the dock. Next time we found him, he was in the anchor locker, making time with the ropes. How he got there, I have no idea
