With billows and blasts from choirs and orchesters
Buskers and talkers
Big bands and squawkers,
the Stork Club has retained its qualities of decaying elegance and dwindling significance since the late 1950s.

September 25, 2022: Rivers Deep
Born 99 years ago today in El Reno, Oklahoma, Samuel Carthorne Rivers was a multi-instrumentalist of tremendous power and originality, playing tenor and soprano sax, flute, piano, bass clarinet, and viola, and somehow found time to compose hundreds of works for solo, trio, 64-piece orchestra, and so much more. We celebrate him with nearly 5 hours of his music. (R.I.P. Pharoah Sanders and Anton Fier)
