Merrily We Roll Along is a mish-mash of high energy lunacy, reverence, and irreverence for forgotten pop stars, love for Saturday morning cartoons, and exploration of the side of Bandcamp where I seem to be the only one purchasing. Bringing to you the odd and the upbeat from a growing collection of pre-rock novelties, classic and neo-Vaudeville, jug bands, polka, klezmer, and more at the convenient hour of 8-9 AM EST, Merrily We Roll Along starts the day off with a little light-hearted musical tomfoolery cut with an occasional comedy sketch. It's organic, free-range, cheese with the occasional onion thrown in.

Hi, have now listened to the music and your announcements and just skimmed the comments. Elles serving Jan meatballs could be a subject of an inapproriate period song. Speaking of period, you've put together a very interesting episode, period. A period long past and itself marked with change, keeping up with audience tastes from the 1880s to the 1930s. And every recording you presented being from the 1960s to the beginning of the 2020s. And the distance from the 1960s to the 1930s as you remarked against the 1960s to now. Egad, so many periods, but the tunes flowed along merrily so. Thank you.

Minor footnote, the Ian Whitcomb remembered recording calls to mind the not so long ago years when Whitcomb was a bit active on FaceBook hyping his recent activity and bantering with the small in number but hugely devoted FB active fans. I only lurked, except to applaud in social media manners. Sigh.
