Thanks fred, had not heard of him, will check him out. The only other banjo players I know doing more experimental things are Paul Metzger (who makes his one 17-string banjos with sympathetic strings like on a sitar), someone called Head of Wantaustiket or something similar whom a friend went to see once, and Nathan Bowles. Other than myself, of course. Still trying to chase down the last remix for "Banjo Machine Music"

morphe, I don't know a whole lot about Helsinki night life, since I usually only go there to see or perform a gig or play at an old-time jam session. I Soviet Kitsch isn't my thing either, but maybe it has to do with the very black humor that is popular here. I have had to remind friends that I don't find Hitler and Nazi jokes to be funny.

My Thanksgiving show was a dance show at the Louvre museum (my first time there). I was busy getting from one station to the other so didn't get to see much of the paintings. I didn't expect that they'd get the Mona Lisa room as the place for group work. Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker is this big now. Cool, but missed a lot being small (big tall guys elbow their way to the front, I have bruises to prove it)
The raft of the Medusa is huge, but no sunglasses there. Also, Mona Lisa looks different without a mustache and goatee

I know, it was weird, at one point I was just leaning against the railing around it, looking at the dance happening, because I know enough about Rosas to guess it would be a good spot. So I had my back to Mona Lisa. Did take a quick look after that, but I had places to go

@Brian: Not so great for me. Probably great if you're tall, big and entitled I am none of these, so had to map the place to find shortcuts to see some of it before being pushed out when the crowd came in.
A lot was too much mimicry of figures in the paintings, the good part was the transitions
