I did my tour of service during the Fast Food Wars of the 90's. I served at nearly all of them... except KFC. I can't remember why. There wasn't really one near me, I guess? No good excuse, since I worked at all the others.

I believe KZEL in Eugene used to have "Twofer Tuesdays," which I'm sure was an idea they inherited, when they borrowed their format from an Ohio station at some point in the early 80's.

Certainly a lot of Rock Blocks too. But they had this branded "Twofer Tuesday" drop that they would play, that sounds as ridiculous as you are imagining it would at a classic rock station.

I did some research on that particular station; they copied their entire format from an Ohio station, almost down to having some of their DJs copy the gags that these Ohio DJs were doing. Which, I guess in the early 80's, happened a lot iwth the "Classic Rock" format.
